Do You Know About NEIS?

The NEIS Program (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) is a Federally funded program designed to help eligible recipients to start a new, viable small business.

The NEIS program started in 1985, and is Australia's longest running and most successful employment program. Over that time, more than 100,000 people have participated in the program.

And Harlequin Business and Training Consultants offers NEIS training both North and South of the River and throughout Western Australia.

NEIS provides you with:

• FREE training in small business management and business skills, and business plan development.
• Income support for the first 12 months of business operations
• Mentoring support for 12 months

Do You Qualify for NEIS?

To be eligible for NEIS you must be:

• Aged 18+ and registered with Centrelink
• Be established, located and operated solely within Australia.

YOUR BUSINESS

To be eligible for NEIS your business must:

• be independent, reputable and lawful
• be assessed as commercially viable by a NEIS provider (Harlequin)
• not be already operating on a commercial basis
• not compete directly with an existing business unless you demonstrate that there is an unsatisfied demand for your product or service or your product or service will be provided in a new way
• not involve the purchase or take-over of an existing business
• be established, located and operated solely in Australia.
